What is Klondike Solitaire?

Klondike is the classic solitaire game that most people simply call "Solitaire." The goal is to build four foundation piles (one for each suit) in ascending order from Ace to King. It's the perfect single-player card game for quick mental breaks or extended gaming sessions.

How to Play Klondike

The game starts with 7 tableau columns containing 1 to 7 cards each. Build descending sequences of alternating colors in the tableau. Move cards to the foundation piles when possible, starting with Aces.

Draw 1: Flip one card at a time from the stock pile. Easier mode, better for beginners.
Draw 3: Flip three cards at a time. More challenging and strategic.
Tableau: Build down in alternating colors (red on black, black on red).
Foundations: Build up by suit from Ace to King.
Empty Columns: Only Kings can be placed in empty tableau columns.

Tips & Strategy

Always move Aces and Twos to foundations immediately.
Expose hidden cards in the tableau as your priority.
Try to create empty columns to give yourself more maneuvering space.
Don't always move cards to foundations right away—sometimes keeping them in play gives you more options.
Think several moves ahead before committing to a sequence.
